Why did God create us knowing We Would sin

And That Our Sin

would require

Jesus’ death

on the cross?

God knew that to create us with free will to be able to choose Him would also mean that we would have the ability to not choose Him.  Without free will we wouldn’t have freedom of choice to choose to love Him.  We would be robots programmed to do so.

He did all this knowing that it would require the brutal excruciating crucifixion of His Son on a cross, and knowing this long before he ever created us.  He did this for His glory, which he determined was worth the sacrifice.  Remember, God can’t create square circles, and just because God has all power does not mean that he can create us with free will without the freedom to sin.  God having all power allows him to resolve issues which require power.  Free Will is outside of the capability of power to resolve.

If God knew that Adam and Eve would sin, why did He create them?

Ultimately, God created us to bring glory to himself.  Why should God expect Glory?  Ultimately, He deserves it!

Deuteronomy 3:24  ‘O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours?

Psalm 96:4-9  For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary

Revelation 4:11  "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."

Revelation 15:4  "Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For all the nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."

Everything God does, everything He doesn’t do, everything He allows or doesn’t allow, is ultimately for His glory.  Even the punishment of sin brings Him Glory, because He is glorified in His righteousness.

Ezekiel 28:22  'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, And I will be glorified in your midst. Then they will know that I am the LORD when I execute judgments in her, And I will manifest My holiness in her.

He created all 100 billion galaxies out of nothing for His glory.  He has created us for His glory, and He has paid the debt we owe because of our sin to give the opportunity for salvation to all so that He will be glorified.

1 Corinthians 6:18  For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

When we think of those we know who have accomplished things, we acknowledge and celebrate their accomplishments.  Right?  The larger the accomplishment, the greater the acknowledgement and celebrating of that accomplishment.  There have been parades for military victories and leaders in those victories in past wars.  There have been parades for sports teams, Olympic winners, astronauts, and others. And one of the largest public recognition's of an individual's accomplishments happens every 4 years in the United States, at the inauguration of the newly elected President of the United States.

We recognize and celebrate those who have made notable accomplishments.  Now think about the accomplishments of the incomprehensible God who has created us, our planet, our sun, our galaxy containing over 100 billion suns, and the universe of 100 billion galaxies that each average having 100 billion suns.  And He created them all out of nothing!  Have you ever created anything out of nothing?  I've had some projects turn into nothing, but I've never created out of nothing.

Some wonder why God requires that we glorify Him.  They conclude that if God needs us to give Him glory, he must be lacking something .  That if he needs something from his creation, it is proof that He is insecure.  However, let's look at the full picture.  If God created everything, does it seem logical that the worship or lack of worship of a few billion people on one planet orbiting one star among trillions of stars that He created would make the difference in how secure He feels?  God is compete in every attribute He has.  He wants for nothing.  God doesn't need our worship at all.  However, He absolutely deserves our worship.  God created us and proved his amazing love for us by the sacrifice He made  on the cross to pay for our sin.  Because He loves us so much He wants the best for us.  Have you ever thought that God wants us to give Him glory because he wants the best for us?  You may have never thought that giving God glory is actually a benefit to us, but read on.

Think of someone you know who has accomplished something significant, or that they have done something significant for you.  What is your attitude toward them?  Don't you praise people and applaud them for what they've done, and thank them if their effort was for your benefit?  Think about the last time you did something important, or did something of value for someone.  How did they react toward you?    Don't you expect someone you have done something for to acknowledge what you have done?  Is this because you need praise or appreciation?  No, it's just common courtesy.  It's nice to be acknowledged when you've done something good for another, and if you don't hear from that person you did something for, how do you feel about them?  That they are nice or that they are rude and inconsiderate?

Think about what God has done.  He has created this entire universe, the trillions of stars, every tree and animal, and He created all of it from nothing, and He also created it for us.  Isn't that amazing?!  What else has He done?  Died a horrific death on a cross to pay the debt we owe for the sin we've committed.  This is more than anyone has every done for anybody, and in fact is something that none of us can do.  Only Jesus is qualified to fully pay the debt that we owe.  How many times do we take for granted the amazing things God has provided for us and done for us?  To think about us being so unappreciative to the creator of the universe is to spit in the face of the one we owe everything to.  Do you see how self-centered we are?  And yet He still loves us?

Also, when you are congratulating someone and celebrating their accomplishments and genuinely expressing thanks for what they've done, are you focused on negative things happening in your life?  Probably not, because you are focused on the accomplishments of the person you are acknowledging.

Since God created us He also knows how we will experience the greatest contentment.  He knows that our contentment is greatest when we do not distract ourselves with the lesser things of this world and allow ourselves to focus on the one who had created everything and works for our ultimate good, and it brings an understanding that we don't know everything and don't have the full perspective to know why some things are happening but that we can have confidence in a God who is outside of time, has ultimate power and knowledge, created everything, and allowed Himself to be hung on a cross so that we could be with Him for all eternity!

Lastly, have you had something negative happen, and you have focused too much effort on that thing?  Or maybe that has happened to someone you know.  Maybe friends and family have tried to put that situation in perspective, contrasting to the rest of the good in your life so that you realize it's not actually a bad as it feels.  Their help may not make you feel completely better at that time, but it usually helps, and with time, helps a lot.

That God would do all he has done, and then sacrifice as He has to save us shows our worth to Him. Our recognition of this incomprehensible God doing this for us when we don't deserve it gives us a great sense of worth, and ultimate contentment.  God ultimately wants us to give Him Glory because He knows that our worship of Him is the only thing that truly keeps our .

Like negative things happening in our lives and others bringing us back to a proper perspective, does this give you a better perspective as to why we absolutely loose out on amazing blessings if we fail to worship our Creator?

Isaiah 43:6-7 "Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by 'my name, whom I created for my glory."

Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”
