Why is salvation
necessary?
1 John 1:5 “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”
1 Timothy 6:15-16 “He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see.”
In these verses we see some of the amazing characteristics of God.

The Hubble Deep Field is an absolutely breathtaking picture taken of an area of the sky much smaller than the visible moon, showing an incredible 4000 of the 100 Billion Galaxies estimated to exist, with each galaxy having an average of 100 Billion stars. The creator of this incredible Universe is the God we have offended with our sin. He is the God the Bible describes, the Bible which is the only volume claiming to be of God, showing evidences of being from God.
After seeing the videos of the Hubble Deep Field and Ultra Deep Field, are you starting to feel a little insignificant? Me too. And yet, as insignificant as we might consider ourselves, this incomprehensible God loves us so much that He chose to die on a cross to pay the sin debt that we owe.
Do you think of this awe-Inspiring God in the way that these Louie Giglio videos and the Hubble Ultra Deep Field videos Him to be? After seeing the Louie Giglio videos and the incredible immensity of the Universe indicated through the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, have you suddenly realized that your impression of God is far far too small?! I know that before seeing these videos, my thoughts of God were far less than who He has revealed Himself to be.
According to the Law of Cause and Effect, this God has more power than the entire Universe, all 100+ billion galaxies of 100+ billion stars in each galaxy, and beyond that, he created the entire universe from nothing! He knows everything and exists everywhere. And what’s more amazing is to think that he probably created the entire Universe for no other reason than to display His power and glory.
Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
This is the God we have offended with our sin. Is it more understandable now how our sin is viewed by this perfect God?
As the verses below the first question indicate,
“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all”
and He “dwells in unapproachable light”.
God cannot share his presence with sin, and since we are sinful, he cannot exist with us in our current condition. This is why he provided a way of salvation through the gift Christ has provided, so that we would have the incredible privilege of spending eternity with Him in heaven.
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake God made Christ to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Christ we might become the righteousness of God.”
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
